| This years Nordic Open is finished and you
will find the results here! The highligt of the
year for Polardog people is getting closer, it´s the Nordic Open. An arrangement that is
open for all pure bread polardogs, open for all people indipendent of competition level,
everybody is welcometo participate in this event. Even though this is a competition, we
will not forget the fun part of it all. Nice atmosphere and the pleasantness will always
be the most important thing for us polardogpeople.
It´s now the tenth year in a row, that the Nordic Open will be arranged in Åsarna by
the SPHK Nedre Norra-district, and this year it will be classed as For-WM! It is with
pleasure that we also this year have the honour to arrange this event and our goal is as
usually to increase the quality of the competitition. Our parking solution will be the
same as usual.
The race will be run according to WSA-rules, but the swedish national rules will be
additional for the dogs ages. You find the national rules for nome-style
here and for pulka-style
here.
New for this year is the class "8-doggs 2 x 52 km" The class runs for three
days and a total of 312 km. Each days stage will bee 2 x 52 km, with a "must
stay" 15 minutes waterbrake at the race center. Mushers are allowed to have a pool of
12 doggs to alternate with, and the team shall bee 8 doggs.
N.B. Check Jordbruksverkets webbpage for rules
according transportation and vaccination.
Our vetenary checkwill be the same as the last years. As usually the check will start
at 5 pm Thursday . There are going to be three files, each 100 meter long and in the end
the vets are going to be. So when you will be arriving you just drive in to one of the
files. At 5 pm, the first three cars in each file, takes out fheir dogs and the vets will
be checking them. When they are ready, the three cars in the front, are moving to an other
place and the car columns will move forwards to the vets and so on, so on, so on.
